TOP NOTCH?

Investigating the answers to these questions will give you a better understanding of your child's teacher(s).

Contacts parents (verbally or in writing) to introduce self before or during the first week of school.
Knows all of the children's names by the end of the first week of school.
Sends home at least one form of weekly communication (a calendar, "homework for the week" guide, etc.)
Has classroom rules and consequences posted on the board/wall.
Has classroom routines that the students know and can follow easily.
Has homework and classroom assignments posted on the board/wall in the same location on a daily basis.
Calls parents immediately if there is a missed homework ,a disciplinary problem, etc.
Does not overload the students with handouts or dittos but has the children work on projects or classroom assignments that encourage creative thinking.
Always has a positive or kind word to say about a child even when the phone call is to report something less than positive.
Expects nothing but the best from each child.
Treats each child with respect.
