It was 8:00 a.m. on a Thursday morning. A distraught mother was in my office, nearly in tears. Her son, "Manny" had been struggling in school all year. He was forgetful and disorganized, losing his assignments and forgetting about quizzes. His grades were faltering and he seemed to have little confidence that he could do any better. "But he's such a bright boy!" she said to me.
